Getting Around.

A private transfer is the easiest way to arrive — we meet you at the terminal, help with luggage, and take you straight to your accommodation. Fixed price, no meter surprises. Book it on our Airport Transfers page.

Uber and Bolt both work in Dubrovnik and are usually cheaper and more predictable than street taxis. Uber from the airport is available but wait times can be long during cruise-heavy days.

Street taxis must use the meter. If a driver refuses or quotes a flat "special" price without agreement, take a different one.

The orange Libertas buses cover the city and suburbs. Buy tickets from a kiosk (cheaper) or from the driver in cash. Key lines:

  Port Gruž ↔ Pile Gate (Old Town)

• Bus 6

  Babin Kuk / Lapad hotels ↔ Pile Gate

• Bus 8

  Pile Gate ↔ Ploče & Lapad beaches

• Port Gruž → Old Town

  ≈ 30 min walk, uphill in parts. Bus is faster.

• Lapad → Old Town

  ≈ 35–45 min along the coast. Pleasant walk, or take Bus 6.

• Cable Car base → Pile Gate

  ≈ 10 min downhill through the Ploče neighbourhood.

• Ploče Gate → Banje Beach

  ≈ 5 min walk.

Ilijina Glavica is the closest paid garage to the Old Town. Port Gruž is cheaper for multi-day stays. Some hotels in Lapad and Babin Kuk offer free parking — worth checking when you book.

Jadrolinija runs the main ferries from Port Gruž. Daily local lines serve Koločep, Lopud, and Šipan (the Elaphiti Islands) — about 30–90 minutes each way. Longer catamaran routes head to Mljet, Korčula, Hvar, and Split.

Buy tickets at the Jadrolinija office in Gruž or online. In summer, arrive at least 30 minutes early — popular sailings sell out.
