Special Traffic Regulation Zone (ZOPR)

  • What is ZOPR?

    New

The restricted traffic zone around Dubrovnik's Old Town. Most visitors cannot drive inside.

  • Why it matters

    New

Cameras, fines, and one-way streets catch drivers who follow navigation apps blindly.

  • Where to park

    New

Use Ilijina Glavica, Gorica garage, or Port Gruž — never the Old Town core.

  • Pelješac Bridge

Fully open — the fastest route to/from Split now bypasses the BiH border entirely.

  • Airport access

DBV airport road is clear. Allow 35–45 min from Old Town outside rush hours, 60 min on cruise-heavy days.

  • Old Town deliveries

Delivery vehicles restricted 06:00–10:00; expect narrow-lane congestion at Pile in the morning.

  • Gruž port area

Free street parking is disappearing fast — most streets now Zone 3 (€1.50/hour).

Weather & Seasonal Advice

  • Heat warning — July/August

35 °C+ possible. Walk the walls at opening, hydrate, and plan indoor stops for midday.

  • Bura wind advisories

Winter/early spring — strong NE gusts can cancel ferries and Pelješac Bridge crossings for HGVs.

  • Swimming season

Sea is 24–26 °C from late June through September. Water shoes recommended — most beaches are pebble.

  • Shoulder season sweet spot

Mid-May and mid-September: warm sea, long days, half the crowds.

A1 and HT have strong 5G across the city and along the coast.
