Offline tip: download the GPX route before leaving the ship and open it in an offline-capable map app. The route and saved place list remain available; live background map tiles need internet unless your map app has downloaded them.

Seven stops. One easy-to-follow loop.

Allow about 90 minutes without paid attraction entry. Add 90–120 minutes if you walk the City Walls, and never use that extra time if it reduces your return-to-ship margin.

  1. 01

    Pile Gate & the drawbridge

Start at the western entrance. Look back toward Fort Lovrijenac before crossing the bridge, then descend through the gate into the city.

Steps and a slope at the entrance; take your time on polished stone.
  2. 02

    Onofrio’s Fountain

Pause at the large 15th-century fountain, once the end point of Dubrovnik’s remarkable aqueduct.

Flat, open paving beside the Franciscan monastery.
  3. 03

    Stradun

Walk the city’s main limestone street toward the clock tower. Side streets reveal quieter courtyards and everyday Old Town life.

The flattest part of the route, though the stone can be slippery.
  4. 04

    Luza Square & Rector’s Palace

See Orlando’s Column, Sponza Palace, St Blaise’s Church and the former seat of the Republic’s Rector in one compact square.

Mostly level around the square; museum entry is optional.
  5. 05

    Old Port

Pass through the harbour gate for open sea views, boat activity and a calmer pause away from Stradun.

Use the Ponta/Old Port passage for the gentlest access.
  6. 06

    Jesuit Steps or flat return

Choose the dramatic baroque steps and Gundulić Square, or stay on the lower parallel streets for a flatter return west.

Skip the Jesuit Steps for limited mobility; remain on Od Puča toward Pile.
  7. 07

    Return to Pile Gate

Exit where buses, taxis, ride apps and cruise shuttles collect passengers for Gruž Port.

Allow extra time at Pile on busy multi-ship days.

Short on time?

Use the 45-minute version: Pile Gate → Onofrio’s Fountain → Stradun → Luza Square → return along Od Puča. Skip the City Walls, Old Port and Jesuit Steps.
