Plan around it: Walls at opening, then leave the Old Town 10:00–15:00 for Lokrum, Cavtat or Mount Srđ, and return for the evening.

What realistically fits.

Based on 10h 5m in the Old Town, in the order most cruise passengers should take them.

1

Old Town on foot, unhurried

Enough for Pile Gate, Onofrio's Fountain, Stradun, Luža Square, the Old Port and a coffee or lunch, without watching the clock the whole time.

2

Old Town plus the City Walls

The Walls circuit takes 1.5–2 hours in the heat and costs €40 for adults. Do it first thing or late, and keep the Old Town streets for afterwards.

3

Add Mount Srđ or a swim at Lokrum

There is room for the cable car and the panoramic viewpoint above the city, or the short boat over to Lokrum island, on top of the Old Town.

4

Add a half-day trip outside the city

Cavtat, the Elaphiti islands, the Konavle valley or the Ston walls and oysters all fit comfortably, with a private driver keeping you inside your all-aboard time.

Hour by hour.

  1. Viking Vesta is scheduled alongside at Berth 11, Gruž cruise port.

  2. Realistic time off the ship once the gangway queue and terminal walk are done.

  3. In the Old Town at Pile or Ploče Gate, using bus, taxi, shuttle or a private pickup.

  4. Leave the Old Town to be back on board comfortably before all aboard.

  5. Estimated all aboard — always follow the time printed in your daily programme.

  6. Scheduled departure from Dubrovnik.

Request a ship-timed pickup.

A private local driver who knows the Viking Vesta schedule, meets you at Gruž and guarantees you are back well before 21:00. Fixed published prices, no ship-excursion queue.

Take the map with you.

Gruž port, the city gates, bus and taxi areas and the recommended walking route, ready for your 10h 5m ashore.
