Parking in Dubrovnik.
Street parking near the Old Town is expensive, time-limited and mostly cashless. Garages are cheaper than the kerb almost everywhere.
Short answer
Zone 1 around Pile is about €10/hour with a two-hour maximum, card or app only. Ilijina Glavica garage is roughly €3/hour and a 5-minute walk to Pile Gate. Gruž street parking is mostly Zone 3 at about €1.50/hour. Do not attempt to park inside the ZOPR zone.
Zones and prices
Zone 1 — Pile / Old Town edge
About €10/hour, maximum stay 2 hours. Card and the Sanacije app only — no cash meters.
Zone 2
Mid-price, longer stays permitted. Fills early in summer.
Zone 3 — Gruž and outer areas
About €1.50/hour. Free street parking around Gruž has largely disappeared.
Ilijina Glavica garage
About €3/hour, covered, 5-minute downhill walk to Pile Gate. The pragmatic choice.
Gorica garage
Covered, larger, good when Ilijina Glavica is full.
Advice for day visitors
Do not circle Pile hoping for a space — in July and August there isn't one. Go straight to a garage.
If your hotel is in Lapad or Babin Kuk, leave the car there and take the bus into town; the fare is cheaper than an hour of Zone 1.
Paying by app requires a Croatian-friendly card. Have a backup card, and keep the ticket where the warden can see it.
